New guy here thats learned alot from reading posts but now i have a concern. Went down to prep for EARL last night(turned into a dock party) and tied the boat stern in and as i looked at the boat i noticed it listing slightly to port. I checked to see if the bottles of rum on the port side galley ledge were to full and they were not. I put 2 120lb women on the starboard side swim plateform and that leveled it out but i can't afford them for to long. checked the bilg of course, check in the sum pump area, dry. all tanks are empty except fuel. It seems everyone stands on that side when hanging out, maybe the boat is just used to listing to port. Thoughts please Also studing on how to change my user name, list previous boats, add pics, and spell check. Thanks, Chris Jus Chilln II |

Doesn't sound like a problem to me Chris having two 120lb women. Better than one 240lb'er. Welcome to the board! |

Your batteries are on th eport side and the fresh water tank is on the starboard side. Was your fresh water tank full or empty? Additionally, The black-water tank (for the head) is on the starboard side, is it empty? And, if you have a gray water tank, this would be on the strboard side .... if you have one, is it full or empty? We have three group-29 batteries (80-ish pounds each) on the port side of the boat. If the fresh water tank is not full, the boat lists to the port side slightly, when at rest. Even with the full tank, it lists just a bit. These tall 8.5' beam boats are sensitive to weight distribution, as you can see in this photo, after adding the 3rd battery to the port side : ![]() |

Thanks for that. The one thing i did't check was the level of the fresh water tank. the batterys and the fresh tank would equal it out. I have nothing in the gray tank. don't know why it's there. sink and shower go into sumpump and bilge out a vent fitting next to the head vent. |

When my fresh water tank is full (starboard) and the fridge is empty the boat is almost level. However, add a case and half of beer to the fridge (port) side and I'm listing to port again. This off season, I intend to add a third battery. I will put it on the starboard side. Should level out some. No need for you to worry. On these smaller cruisers, listing to port is "normal". Thanks, Craig case and 1/2 fit in the fridge, really. My wife won't let me use the whole fridge so when i buy 30 i have to leave some home. I took my cooler out because my two fenders fit perfect in the cooler spot and i carry a soft cooler that fits under the back seat. |

You can about 20-24 on the bottom shelf, another 8-12 on the top shelf. That leaves space for water bottles in the door and ice area ... or you can just cram more beer in those areas. ![]() Craig C. |
