About 2 weeks ago, our dockmate was interested in a bigger boat. He had a 28' Rinker so I let him drive our 338 and he fell in love with the feel of a larger boat.

Last week we got a call that he had a new addition in the family and this weekend there it was. It is a beautiful 2009 V358.

The load is loaded including Axius drives. Holy Mackeral!

Docking with the joystick is a dream. Now I have Joystick envy. :D :D :D

Always good to hear of a new boat being sold. Hopefully your friend will join us here - it's time to resurrect the V358 thread after its summer slumber. I will be very curious to hear how he makes out with the Axius system. It is known already to be quite buggy and problematic but also to be a joy to have if everything is working properly. It would be great to hear some first-hand experience from a FW owner.

I have invited him to join and he may be lurking at this point. I remember hearing about the "auto anchor" mode having a few issues but never had a chance to investigate things any farther. As far as the performance, Axius did exactly what I would have expected. To move sideways, its a few pushes on the joystick in that direction. Steering in close quarters seemed to be very simple and not jerky.

With only a few hours under his belt, the owner was able to gently back into his slip like a pro. It was impressive to watch.

It was interesting to compare my 2007 338 to the 2009 358. Some very nice improvements. Love the jump seat and the swim platform built in compartments that can be used as coolers.

The boat felt very stable at all speeds.

Well I hate to say it here but I too have some kind of itis. I have been looking at bigger boats. I am using the excuse that when I retire we would live on it more and require more space. If I do it I am going to go big. I must get herself to buy into it though. Time will tell.
