Went out for a cruise this evening, no starty.

I noticed last weekend that when I turned the key there was a delay before the engine actually turned over. That is, I turned the key to starting position and there was a 3 second delay before any response from the starter. Tonight, nothing. Batteries are charged.

It is either the switch, the starter or the wires in between. I have a feeling it's the switch. Anyone else with this issue?

If you hear a click from the engine when you turn the key, check the start relay contacts.

No clicking. Just silence. Like I'm not turning the key at all.

Then check the neutral safety switch in the shifter, and check the safety lanyard switch. If they are good, at the keyswitch check for +12 on the start contact (yel/red wire on mine and I think the contact is labeled S). If that's good, find the start relay (under a black plastic cover above the starboard riser on my 5.7GSi). It's a conventional water-resistant plugin relay behind the engine circuit breakers. Check continuity of its coil (or just replace it at the risk of not needing to).
