Havent picked up my 248 yet (hopefully next weekend) but i'm going to need a searchlight for sure. I was curious what they come with from the factory? I'm looking at the chrome 5" Jabsco's on ebay. I think i'm going to splurge for the chrome since the boat was so cheap :) Also, any install tips? I'm sure it's going to require some enduring time with the "fish tape."

My 248 didn't have one. I used a hand held. The 288 came with it so installation I can't help with.

Call Kendra in customer service at the factory in Cadillac. She, or any other CSR there can get you the mfg. of the OEM spotlight.

a combination of flat fish tape (not the regular thicker wire kind) and fiberglas extensions works great for running wire. Regular fish tape tends to curve way too much in the various curves spaces in the boat.
