So last year I had an issue with an old, musty, gas like smell in my bilge. I had that all taken care of, and the bilge near the engine area looks/smells pretty good. I went to take some items out of the storage compartments in the V-berth today and noticed that it has a pretty good odor to it. What do I need to do to get rid of that odor from my front bilge area? I'm on a time crunch as in a few days the boat goes into storage for the winter and I won't see it again until early April. |

We used bilge cleaner as well with our 258. One additional trick we were given was to use bounce dryer sheets in the cabin compartments for the winter storage. It keeps things smelling nice and fresh when you open the boat in the spring. |

I'm going to flush it out with some citrus cleaner and let the bilge pump pump it out a few times. I don't recall letting it cycle a lot when I had originally cleaned it. We do the bouce sheet and they are great. Another friend suggested soaking a towel in febreeze and letting it sit in the bilge all winter. I may try that as well. |
