I am having an issue with the white navigation light. When i switch on the navigation light the white light does not come on, just my red and green lights. However, and i flip the rocker switch to anchor lights the white light does come on. I am not sure if the issue is with the switch. anyone have any advice as to were and start troubleshooting the problem.

I would start at the switch. Since it works in the anchor position, you can assume the bulb and the ground is good. Look for a loose spade lug or a pulled out wire.

You don't mention which model boat is involved here.

The light up top does not necessarily come on for navigation. An all-around visible top light is NOT a navigation light. It's an anchor light. For a power boat underway there's supposed to be a rear-ward facing white light, not a top all-around light.

This assumes you're talking about the white light up on the top of the arch and not a light on the transom (sometimes mounted to a pole).

He has a 2000 298 Vista, and I do not believe that model has a stern mounted white light. Only on the arch. And it should be on while underway with Nav lights.

By the initial description I was assuming the basic 3 position helm switch like we have. The wiring is pretty simple that in the anchor position, just the arch mounted anchor light is on and the nav position where the front bow nav lights and the anchor light are on. Since it is a 2 pole middle off switch, my thought was the anchor light wiring is loose at the switch since it works in the opposite switch setting.

Thank you for the input. I will check all of the wires this weekend on the switch to make sure they are on tight. If that does not work i will replace the switch.

I only have the single white light on the arch, no stern light.
