I looked at a used 2004 v288 last week, it was in great shape but in dire need of some cleaning. A little over 100 hrs on twin 5.0gxi SX drives. Interior and gel coat a 9 out of 10. No gen or trailer. The caveot: It hasn't been in the water or even started since 2006!! Other than the obvious issues: old gas, drive seals and bearings , is there anything else I should be concerned with? Asking price is 59,900. A little rich for my blood! |

Only thing I can think of is obvious....dry rot on belts, hoses and things of the sort. |

Not a bad price i don't think. I have a 07- 288 that has a gen and trailer but alot more money. You can get a new trailer for about 5-6 grand (Aluminun). Make sure it has disc brakes. That boat mind you is not legal for towing. Too wide. Anything over 102 is not allowed,(permit only). |

As far as the price its reasonable to other listings, but its just the "asking price". It doesn't hurt to loball in this economy we shall see. Anything over 8'6" in Mass you need a special permit, then again everything in mass is illegal. ![]() Are there any other mechanical concerns about the almost 4 yrs that the engines have not been running? Other than listed above? |

I would also check all fresh water systems (macerator, holding tanks, etc). |

Boat weighs in around 10000lbs. Bought aluminum trailer (tri axel) and boat fits nice on it dealer says we will set it up for you, but you know how that goes. After a few changes it works great. Just drive it right on. The trailer fitted 30 to 35 ft boat. I cut 3ft off of toung to shorten overall length. Boat and trailer come in around 12500lbs. I tow it with a 07 Tundra. It tows good. I only tow it from storage to the water and back to storage at end of year. if you buy a trailer i suggest you make sure it has disc brakes. They are the cats meow. |

Would like too see a pic of a 288 on the back of her!! And before everyone jumps on you the max tow rating is 10100 lbs. Not sure where you are but up here in Ontario if you are going down the road in the summer you will get pulled over and ticketed for and unsafe load!! |
