Next problem: I have a gray system and the shower sump keeps tripping the circuit. I can reset it, and reach in and grab the tank and shake it and it will start pumping. Sometimes, it will run through ten cycles and then trip again, sometimes only a few ycles. Does it just need a cleaning? Is the pump tired? The boat is a 2004. Next problem is how the hell do you get it out?! There are three stiff hoses over the top of the tank. I swear they laid this tank on the floor and built the boat around it.

Hi

When you say "shake the tank" you are shaking the box that the sump pump in, YES??

I have a Vista 258, my pump is located under the floor just in front of the head. With a access panel under the rug to get to it. Yes, I would clean it first. BUT, thats my boat!! I would post the model of your boat too. Maybe some one with that model and year can tell you were & how to get to it.

It's a 2004 268. The sump tank is through the floor in the closet. Pain in the ass.

It sounds like you know were this pump is. Yes, at times things like this are a pain. I just installed a new windlass, I had to to from the engine compartment pass the helm, though the head and cabin into the anchor locker with two #8 wires. Fours hrs later!! Anyways, since you know were, I would install a accsses panel.

These are some examples, they come in round and square ones. http://search.defender.com/?expression=access%20hatches
