Post subject: | First post and a new 248 Vista owner! |
Hello all, I am glad Ii was linked to this site by 230Mike over on Trailerboats (Thanks Mike!). I went down to the local Four Winns dealer on Saturday to look at a 2006 248Vista that they had on the lot. Aparently the owner bought the boat last season put a total of 30 hours on it and decided to trade in for the larger Vista series (He entertains 8+ so I can understand his need for a larger boat). So I went down and talked with the dealer and told them what I had to trade in and showed them my photos on the net and they agreed to allow me what I was asking for my 2002 Stingray 230SX (496Mag B1) and I signed the paperwork! I will most likely (weather permitting) pick the 248 up next weekend after they do a thorough sea trial and educate me on where the sea cocks are, how to operate everything etc. P&L Boat Sales in Pittsburgh is where I went and I have to say Ed was an absolute pleasure to deal with and they spent most of the day with me ![]() Here's the skinny on the boat... I'm sure you all know the extensive list of factory options on the 248 so I will list the "option" options ![]() Hull: White/Black Hull Tape: Black Canvas: Black Interior: Black Stone Vinyl: White/Sandstone Engine: Volvo Gi/DP 280HP Options: Fireboy automatic extinguisher system CD Changer (6) Disk Sunpads (deck) Cushion (aft) fill-in Raymarine VHF DSC Radio Deluxe Stering Wheel upgrade Transom Stereo Remote Microwave Head OB Discharge, Porcelain TV, Flat Screen, DVD Player Air Conditioning/Heating Anchor, Rope, Chain Package STBD Windsheild Wiper Remote Spot/Flood Light Cockpit cover Standard Horizon CP180i GPS Fenders, Docklines etc. Pretty well loaded up! I couldn't get them to budge much on the price considering what they are showing me trade in wise, they allowed 30K trade in and the price on the boat was in the mid 50's which I thought was fair given the options. The boat is absolutely flawless and I am SO excited!!!! Oh it also has the extended warranty from Volvo ![]() |

Cat, I have no scheduled plans at the moment. My first priority is to familiarize myself with how the boat handles, docks, launches and operates in my local familiar waters (Monongahela River). Once I feel confident that I have the hang of the 248 then I will have to check my vacation time. I just got hired on by a new company so my first year's three weeks are pro-rated based on working hours acrued and I need to look through the paperwork to see when I will have my first week available. It would be my first time to Raystown and it will be my first time to Erie as well (well, on my own boat). |

Somebody pinch me please... I can't beleive this is real.... The 248 is home after the sea trial. I seriously don't beleive I deserve a boat this nice... It's so damn beautiful and I am so friggen happy!!!! Here's a couple crappy cell phone pics. Don't mind the red truck... My friend Ron took his 2500 Ram down to pick it up since three of us went down and he has the crew cab ![]() ![]() ![]() Again sorry for the terrible photos. This is one time where photo's are not telling the whole story. This boat is absolutely perfect.... And the pics don't show it.. I need to get another digicam ![]() |
