Well at least the weather in the Great Lakes area, specifically Lake Huron. We left almost a week ago to boat across Lake St.Clair and up the St.Clair river heading for Port Huron, Michigan and had a great ride. Left Port Huron, Michigan and headed for Bayfield, Ontario, again great boating weather in terms of light winds and sunny skies. Left Bayfield two days ago and headed for Port Elgin, Ontario where we are currently docked, another beautiful ride. Tomorrow we leave from Port Elgin headed for Grand Bend, Ontario and for what its worth now the marine weather again looks quite favourable for our ride.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather where you boat, I'm hoping this nice weather stays with us.

P.S. Topped up in Port Huron, Michigan at $4.30 gallon (this works out to be about $1.13 Canadian a litre) and in Port Elgin we paid $1.50 Canadian a litre). I think I'm making a stop in Michigan to fill our tanks up before heading back to our home marina. :)

Mike.

Agreed. This weather is finally what we have been waiting for. Spent the last 5 days on the boat. Every day has been nearly perfect. July 4th was the best. Lake Michigan 72 degrees, not much boat traffic at the beach, and calm waters. Excellent.

Nice pics Cap'n.

We are now visiting my folks at their cottage.Their cottage is over looking Lake Huron in Pike Bay (about 25 miles north of Port Elgin). Speaking of weather still, as I look out over the lake the fog just came in and swallowed up an island that is about 3/4 mile off shore.

That wouldn't be nice to be miles out in the lake and run into that fog bank. My wife hates fog, gotta admit I'm not overly fond of it either.

I'll post some pics from our vacation when we return home.

Anybody else out and about on boating holidays at this time?

Mike.

We had an awesome time out this weekend. The Texas weather has FINALLY started to cooperate. The winds have been 30+ nearly every weekend and a lot during the week too. It finally died down and allowed us to REALLY enjoy our first summer on our Vista. I sure hope it continues!
