Hello,

Another question about my soon to be new 328 Vista. The owner's manual says the cockpit table is stored underneath the aft stern seat and the legs behind it. I can see where the legs are stored (small box visible with the seat pulled out), but have no idea where the table top stores. Please enlighten me... :?

Thanks,

Steve.

Directly under the transom aft cabin seat there is a groove on each side of this seat that accepts the aft table top. The prevous owner of our 328 stored the aft table top in the vertical locker in the galley on the starboard side. This is the locker behind the electrial panel. He secured the aft table top with a simple "C" clamp so the table top would not move around during bumpy cruises.

Happy hunting....... :)

Mike.

Thanks Mike,

Just because I'm really dense, (and don't have the boat yet to look) you are talking about the seat in the cockpit (outside) that backs onto the transom, correct? Or are you referring to the aft (mid) cabin (down below, inside)

Steve.

Steve,

Sometimes its fun trying to find things even if you have the boat to look at. :)

Yes, as you say I'm referring to "the seat in the cockpit (outside) that backs onto the transom".

This is the seating area that is as far aft in the cockpit area as you can go. This whole seat does hinge up so you can gain easier access to the engines via the two engine panel covers. The cockpit table will slide into the underside of this seat.

Hope all goes smoothly with your purchase.........

Mike.

Okay, thanks Mike - it just doesn't seem like there is enough room for it there, but I guess there must be. I hope all goes well - the sea trial was successful - only a few items that need looking at and most minor, except perhaps the windlass. The survey is scheduled for tomorrow, so that and the mechanical will be the final decision maker. I've got my fingers crossed.

Steve.

Ahh, a picture is worth many words (not sure about a thousand...) Thanks for taking the time to post it.
