Not in CT, but welcome to the site.

You didn't buy your boat from G&R Marine by any chance?

Hbender, Welcome to the site and to the Four Winns Vista world! I am in NY and will be passing thru the Sound on an August trip. Still working on the details but hope to get a few of us together either up along the CT River or at Greenport! Enjoy the Vista.

Thanks for the replies everyone....
I'd be interested to know if anyone has some suggestions on where to dock for an overnight stay somewhere along the CT shore. It would be nice to take a cruise from Norwalk to somewhere....I heard that there are some nice marinas with pools, resturants, etc....

ShanMan....yes, we did buy from G&R Marine....I heard bad things about their predecessor, Mellen Marine, but so far the dealer service has been fine (although we haven't neded much)...

We just bought from GR Marine a 2007 318. Great boat. We are in Essex.

Mellen sucked so bad. I wish I knew that he had filed for bancruptcy before I bought my boat. You should not be able to do business anymore without putting up a big sign. He took the money for my extended warrenty and ran. And because he already filed for protection there is nothing I can do. That being said, G&R have been awsome in helping me with some issues I have had and I would definatley buy from them.

There are alot of good places to stay on the CT river. I know that Norwalk can be a bit of a trip, but non the less we have some nice marinas here. There is also another thread here somewhere about getting a trip together this year.

I don't know how far you are looking to cruise, but some time ago, I stayed at the Cedar Island Marina, in Clinton. A "Wild Guess" on my part would be that it is approx 40 Nautical miles from Norwalk! We had a great time there. They had a swimming pool and a restaurant and I am pretty sure they are a "Full Service" marina.

Accross the Sound it would be a pretty easy shot to Port Jeff! We really like it there. We stayed at Danford's althought I think it has changed hands now. The problem is that Danford's was "Very Expensive"! Also, if you do stay there, make sure they do not put you on the gas dock. Between the fumes and the Ferry from Bridgeport, you will not like it.

There are many other real nice places that some of the other CT folks can tell you about, but these are 2 that I have had personal experiences with.

Have a Great and Safe Cruise, wherever you decide to go.

We spend our time on the hook. Shelter Island or up the CT river. Free and most of all relaxing......

:D We bought our third boat from Bryan at G & R Marine - great dealer. Ordered and bought a 2007 318, so far a well designed boat - fun to operate and stay aboard. And the dealer has not forgotten us after the purchase.

There are many good marinas in CT. If you are interested in visiting Casinos you can make reservations at The Marina at American Wharf at the head of the Thames River in Norwich. World class marina, and they have shuddle type buses to get you back and forth to the two Indian casinos. Have a pool, floating cement docks, cable TV, water & electric and a new resturant opening this week.

Plenty to do in Eastern CT - "Mystic Coast & Country". We love it.

Second boat from G&R , Brian is good, so far so good. We have now 288 , minor issues . For couple seasons we were on CT River . Went to Hamburg Cove a lot , still like to go if we have a chance . We would like to also explore more of LIS , maybe this year .We stay in Clinton now , close to the beach , shopping mall (outlets ). Went out last weekend -still pretty cold out in the sound , much warmer on River , doesn't look to good this weekend .
