Post subject:  Freezer...not freezing

Took the kids out to the beach with some popsicles in the freezer - after lunch, maybe 2-3hrs later they were mostly mush. I've been fighting with my house battery voltage and have replaced the charger but not the battery yet - saw the house voltage was ~11.75V so I decided maybe the frig doesn't like to work below 12V or something.
Fast forward 24hrs to the next day after the boat has been plugged in for 20 of those hours - freezer is still not freezing the 2 popsicles that remained. I noticed we had some cooler packs in the freezer near the back that were frozen solid. Could these somehow be tricking the temp sensor into thinking the freezer is cold, so the frig isn't coming on?
I've removed them and will check again today, but I'm hoping I don't have a real (and therefore expensive) issue with the frig.

I've never had the kids popsicles stay frozen. Not on batteries nor on shore power. Why, I have no idea, but given the tiny size of the freezer I've more or less given up on bothering to use it for anything other than just water bottles.

Things that are high in sugar content are not the easiest things to freeze in these tiny freezers. The freezer probably doesn't have temp control just works off the saturated refrigerant temp for the refrigerant in the fridge portion. We are able to keep yougurt tubes frozen for the kids but not Popsicle, freezes can be a little mushy to.
