Post subject: | Storing of Boat and Winterization |
I have found a place to store my boat for the winter. I live in New England and I have found a place that I am storing indoors with the temp maintained at 55 degrees all the time. I am replacing the electronics (new chartplotters, autopilot, sonar, adding 2 tvs and sat tv) on the boat over the winter so it will be a nice winter project. The question I have is when the boat is pulled out of the water, what should I be doing with winterization. Obviously I am going to drain the fresh water, the waste etc and clean all that out, but what about the batteries? Do i need to open or close any sillcocks? Just want to be able to get your opinions as there are many of them out there. I am thinking of leaving the batteries in there and keep them connected or from another post on the "boating banter" remove the negative and keep the positive? Not sure if that is for the cold weather or not. The garage is heated and the boat will be there from 10/24 to 5/1/ Any thoughts would be appreciated. |
