My 2007 318 has the strainers located in the rear Aft under the seats that turns into a bed at night. There are two strainers; 1 Genny, 1 AC. The Genny has the typical wing nut configuration, but the AC has a flat top with a big ass square on the top. Anyone with this set-up, how does it open? I don't have any tool closely resembling that opening. I'd post a pic but don't have the ability too right now. Perhaps someone has a pic to share with the forum, cause I'm stumped.

Cheers

Try spinning the the bottom half off, it may be tight because of the O'ring in it.

Both of my strainers are the same. They have the big square on top. I just used a small pair of channel locks and the top comes right off. The strainer comes out the top.

I have the same setup as JSimon. Just unscrew the tops with a pair of channel locks.

Ditto, my 07 318 has the square fixture on the top, just used a pair of channel locks and they came right off. The screen come out the top and a little toilet brush action, clean and ready.

Much thanks, I just wish they would have used the same set up for both. Again some poor design flaws.

Cheers
