Post subject: | broke starboard drain plug :( |
As part of my winterization process it seems i need to give myself a extra project for the spring. After I drained the water out of the manifolds, engine block, water pump, etc. I was putting the plugs back in and when I got to the starboard engine block drain plug I guess I tighten it too tight and it broke off. I can't seem to find a part number or even a picture of it. I looked on the VP site and marinepartsexpress, etc. Does anyone know where I can find the part number and diagram of the part? Thanks in advance, Scott 2004 268 Vista 5.7 Gi-D VP engine. |

Not sure what yours look like but mine are all plugs with 9/16" heads on them. I think it's 3/8" mpt. |

Its nothing special, every hardware store on the planet will have one, just bring the one out of the other side to match it up, its NPT pipe thread. |

Unfortunately, it wasn't the drain plug that broke...It was the part that I was screwing the plug into that broke. I am still searching through Google for the part and a part number of the entire section. |

I believe you are talking about item # 6 below, it is PN 3850490 If it has a hose attached to it that goes to your hot water tank then this is it ![]() |

Partycove2 -- Thanks... The drain plug on the other side of the water heater. Do you happen to know the part number for #11 in the diagram, that is the part the broke. Thanks for your help. |
