There is a light and non-slip coating so I assume this is a step of some kind? Is this to access the radar arch or something? Or, for boarding? And why is it padded all around it?

Speculation on my part: It is a step. When your dockside it gives you a little less distance to get into the boat while being next to the arch so there is something handy to grab and stabilize yourself as boarding.

Looks like a Boarding step to me!

Especially since it is lighted!

Also, I see a grab rail close.

Padded, so it can also be used as a seat :?:

It looks like a corner that my wife could put me in for punishment. She'd make my little butt sit there for checking out everyone else wife's in their bikini's. It's just missing a dunce cap.

Adjust the zippers on the bimini sometime, you'll appreciate the step... As for the padding, is there a seat that fits into the area? Otherwise it's probably just padded for looks and a bit of added safety. Or to let someone kneel there, hanging on the handle, to look out the port side when you're flyin' along!

At least it HAS a bare space you step down onto when boarding from the side, our 348 doesn't. But then if the bimini is raised you can't really board through the poles anyway.

And woggy, get better sunglasses for babe watching!
