We are looking at purchasing a 02 268 , 50hr on rebuilt engine, appears to be in excellent condition, west coast ocean boat, what is the going sale price of these boats? not the asking price. New to this forum and brand. Thanks |

Salt water boat I suspect ? Probably why it has a re-built engine. If the risers/manifolds were not maintained, that would lead to the engine failure. What does that say about how the boat was maintained overall ? Probably not a positive sign, 2002 freshwater only 268Vista's are priced all over the place. But approx. $30K is a good starting point for a well maintained 2002. |

Thanks, engine through a rod, insurance paid for the rebuild, survey results excellent, horn doesn't work and no audio on VHF everything else thumbs up |

I have a 2000 Vista 268 that I just had to have the engine rebuilt on for salt water getting into the engine. I am very meticulous about maintaining my boat, but sometimes the risers should be replaced before they show major signs. Just bad luck. It is always nice if the rebuilt engine has a year warranty from the mechanic to provide a little piece of mind though. I have been toying around with selling mine and talked to a local boat broker on the west coast and he said the most recent 2000 268 he saw here went for 22k, not sure about options, condition, etc. So that help you target in on a price.
