Well, I finally took the plunge at the end of last season and had PlasDeck installed on my 328 Vista. Contrary to all the negative comments I've read here over the years, I love it! My boat has a completely new look!

The installer came out and took measurements. Within 3 weeks all the panels were ready. Installation took a little over two days from start to finish.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I can't wait for the season to begin!

oh wow that's amazing, I wonder what that would look like on a bowrider?

Looks real nice especially with doing all three areas (swim platform, cockpit and galley together). I'd better not show my wife your pictures though.....we have spent enough money lately.

We have the black camper top and the upgraded Admiral Gold interior package so that PlasDeck would really work well for us too on our 328.

If you don't mind me asking what would the approximate cost be to do each of the three areas? If you would rather not say, that's ok too.

How durable will the PlasDeck be on your swim platform in terms of how many years should you expect it to remain in good shape before the weather takes a toll on it? You're boating season should be similar to ours (about 6 months a year)?

Mike.

I looked into it once. Its about $35 sq ft to have it installed and that was 3 yrs ago. BUT, IT LOOK GREAT!!

I went with Seadeck, not as good looking, but much cheaper in price.

That looks great, I really like it! Does it just glue right down, and how does that work on the no-slip surfaces?

Yep, we originally had a tan camper canvas but by the beginning of last season it was shot, so I had a complete new custom canvas package created in black to replace the old one last Summer.

No problem at all. I have the invoice right here.

Swim Platform (PlasDeck Hybrid Style) $1530
Cockpit areas (PlasDeck New York Style) $2340
Cabin (PlasDeck New York Style - Light caulk lines) $1320

They told me 8 to 10 years. However, I don't think I believe that.

I presume he glued it down, although I wasn't there when it was being installed. There's certainly no way to lift it as each piece is sealed all the way around.

According to the installer, PlasDeck is formulated to adhere to non-skid.

Yes, it is a type on contact cement. They will use what ever color you pick. As in the swim platform, black, and the "teak" border. The rest of it is a sheet, but the border they lay down and fill any seams like using grout. I have seen it at the N.E. Boat Show. It really is GREAT looking stuff, but the price. The only thing bad about that & Seadek is that the darker the color the hotter it gets in the sun.

That's what everyone told me before I had it installed, but I didn't find it uncomfortably hot, even in the bright sun.

That stated, it was installed at the end of the season and even a bright sunny day in late October is only going to be so hot in NJ/PA. It'll be interesting to experience it during the height of Summer.

Very sweet! I absolutely love the look and gives the boat a new feel.

I sure hope you love it, cause I do! Just have to ask why you changed between the black and white stripes?

Thanks for your comment. I do like it a lot. It gives the boat a completely different look.

The reason I went with light stripes for the cabin is because I was concerned that the dark stripes would contribute to a cramped look. I think I was right because the light stripes make the floor pop and give an overall lighter feel to a floor that could otherwise look oppressive and heavy.

I could have gone with light stripes for the cockpit and swim platform as well, but decided to stay traditional for those areas as I wasn't sure how the light stripes would come off there.
