When my engine overheated, the wiring harness at the engine literaly melted in spots. The mechanic had to inspect the entire harness around the engine. I still get some fluctuations when i'm running the lake. If you have the time and the wiring schematic, follow the wiring harness from the dash to the engine compartment. There might be some connections that are butt connected that corroded and have intermittant connections. I guarantee you'll know alot more about your boat when you finish.

Finally- I think I can end this thread that has been buggin all of you (and me) for the last three weeks.

It has been brought to my attention that the new dashboards from FW don't come assembled and the dealership assembles them prior to sale (hence the fluctuation in prices I have seen on other threads)

When mine was put together, the pins on the harness that plug into the back of the actual gauges (are followig me here?) were pushed out, so no contact was being made. That is why the volt meter wouldnt diagnose, etc. 15 minutes (but it took 2 days to get it looked at) and problem solved. FINALLY.

Sea trial tonight or tomorrow to confirm. No news is good news.
Thanks again,
-Randy

It looks like I'll be trailering out your way some time this summer. I'd like to get the two 238's together.

If it's Grand Haven, then that is where we'll go. I really like it there, but never took the boat there. There is someone else with a 238 that lives in Novi. I think his name is Scott and he is also a part of this forum. I'll see if he can go also. Just have to pick a weekend to do it.
