My microphone coiled cord is disintegrating and I'm looking for a cheap replacement. I know the part number for the entire mic assy is R49015 and/or E43003 but it appears to be discontinued. The VHF radio is model RAY215. Anyone no where to either pick up a cheap used one or a good replacement cord?? |

Personally, I would buy a new one with Class D Digital Select Calling (aka DSC). Your old unit does not have it. Put in your MMSI number into your new VHF and hooked up to your GPS. In a emergency, hit the help button and your location with the your name, phone #, size, make, model & color of your boat (from the MMSI#) is sent to the U.S.C.G. This takes all of 5 secs. to do. A great safety feature to have!! A new unit starts at about $120.00 |

Thanks cap'n!! Not sure why I couldn't find that on their site. As a matter of fact I thought I read it was discontinued. Paul, I would by a dsc radio but we boat on an inland lake and I doubt we would ever have a use for it. Eventhough it would be a fairly easy 'project' to put in a new radio, I really don't think I want do to the extra work. I'll check some of the dsc radios though and make a final decision. Bill |
