Hi,
I just bought a 2000 338 Vista. I don't have a camper top frame. It would be alot easyer to fabricate the frame if someone would let me measure their bows. I emailed Four Winns asking for a drawing and have not received a reply. I understand the 338 and the 328 frame are the same. Is there a Four Winns owner on the East side of Detroit that will help me out. I'm in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan
Thank you,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

We are on the Canadian side of Lake St.Clair. I imagine you will find another 328/338 Vista to measure for your camper top frame before May, but if not we are planning to make our annual run over to Metro Beach Metropark in Mount Clemens Michigan on May 19/20 as this is the Canadian Victoria Holiday long weekend.

Oh, and congratulations on your 338 purchase! When you get a chance post some pics of your 338.

Mike.

Hi Mike,
Metro is only a 20min. ride from here. If I can not get the measurements sooner, I'll take you up on that offer. I need the length of the legs of the 5 bows and I need to know how wide they are. Im assuming all 5 are the same width.
Thank you,
Jeff

Any chance you could ask to take measurement from this boat ?

We have a 2000 338 however it is in storage right now. If you can wait a month or two, we could do it for you. Congrats on the boat. We LOVE our 338. We initially were looking for a 328, but this one came along. The seating around the table in the back is so much nicer than the 328. You will love it!

Plus you will love the inboards over I/O as far as maintenance is concerned. It's a shame Four Winns has so few straight inboard offerings in their current line of cruisers.

Hi All,
I spoke with Jessica At Skipper Buds in Fenton, Mi. She is going to order me a new frame. I think its a good buy at $770. For another $600 I'm ordering the camper canvas also. Thank you to everyone for there help.

Just one thing to think about - not sure how your factory canvas would have been (or will be) but our 1999 328 has the canvas run under the radar arch. On our boat this introduces holes for the supports (top of arch supports) that allow water to run into the boat. It could be that ours has been modified incorrectly over the years before we owned her, but our plan is to eventually replace the canvas, and at the same time have it connect to the radar arch instead of run under it. Essentially this will utilize the radar arch as part of the support system and also reduce the number of 'holes' the canvas needs to be supported, it will also allow us to use the arch as an interior attachment point which we can't do now. This system also creates a more modern look for the boat.
My point is...if you also like the attached to the arch look - you may want to have new custom canvas made.

Jeff,
600 seems more than reasonable for canvas. Can I ask how many pieces you purchased?
