Cleaning the galley fridge yesterday. There's a small grey plastic shelf that sits in tracks and is held in the front by a piece of aluminum trim. The shelf covers the "drawer" at the bottom of the fridge. Does this shelf come out? Tried but it wouldn't come out.

You don't mention the boat model/year, nor the brand of fridge. So it's rather difficult to give accurate advice.

If it's like most fridges that front trim strip is held in place by pressure from the sides of the interior fridge box. You just press on the side and gently pull the center of the trim strip. This will allow just enough clearance to allow the trim strip to pop out of the sides of the box. Typically there are two pins on each end of the strip. Just take care not to allow the pins to scrape the box side. If the strip won't bend then sometimes it's a matter of pushing the strip toward the opposite side, enough to let the pins clear the holes.

Thanks, Admiral. I guess I should put the year and model in my signature. It's a 2006 348.

I tried bowing it but it didn't want to pop out. I'll try the side press method.

As I recall with mine (whose make/model I can't immediately remember) it was stiff. It took some effort to push the side out enough, and bend the middle enough, to get the two side pins clear enough to remove it. Especially if you want to avoid having those pins scrape the inside of the box. They're rounded but it's still possible for them to scuff the inside of the box. I put a patch of blue painters tape there to avoid the issue. But it wasn't really needed once I figured out just how much pressure I'd need.

Good luck with it!
