I always wondered why my boat listed slightly to port. I just realized I have a 100 pounds of batteries on the port side. I just never thought about the weight of a single battery.  Especially, if I am not carrying a full load of fresh water. The is just a little more weight on the port side. I can't tell you how many people have walked down our dock and mentioned something to me.

The boat's weight and balance was designed as such with a full working load (minus people). |

I am the same way, batteries, fridge, and a full liquor cabinet on that side make it list to Port a bit. |

Me too! I have 2 battery, hot water tank and the galley. I did add a 3rd battery and tools to the starboard side in the engine compartment. It helps. |

Same here, its an ongoing joke about our 04 268 from our friends that pass on the dock, they keep telling me its about to roll over, Deadliest Catch style. We try to allways have the fresh water tank topped off and any extra weight on the starboard side. |

Boy am I glad to see this string. I just bought my boat so much is new to me, and as I walk away, I noticed my boat seems to list to port. This makes me feel so much better! |

When I bought our Vista 278 there were some water containers on the starboard side which I assumed were an emergency or backup supply. I removed them. The boat tended to list to port. I put the water containers back in and now the boat sits level at dock.
