I took my 258 vista out and the first time it got stuck in reverse so we had to be towed in. I took it to this marine shop and he "fixed it" said that the cable was loose. We took it back out it got stuck again we took it back to the marina shop he said he "fixed it" and the cable was too tight. We took it back out the third time and it got stuck forward and hit me broke my arm dented the back of my truck. So we took him to court and found out from blue moon marina in lake of the ozarks that it was the Throttle Cable that broke. The took the upper and lower drive out and my boat is in pieces plus not on the trailer correctly. So my question to you is.

Is it normal for a throttle cable to break on the boat? This guy hasn't used it since 07 i bought the boat in 09 and FINALLY got it out of court. So we are getting the boat fixed at a different marina where they even said after it hit me that it was the throttle cable that broke. Im hoping that this year the boat will finally touch water again.

I have seen them break more than once, but its not a extremely common thing to happen.
