| This is a followup to my last post, what do all you guys do when our not on your boat. Do you leave the AC running or shut it off? I have always left mine running, but my slip neighbor always shuts his off. We keep stuff in the fridge all summer so it will be a bit harder on the fridge. I was just thinking though, if the life cycle of an A/C pump can be measured in hours, I used most of mine when we were not there. I'm thinking as a step in between, I may just adjust the thermostat to like 80 or 85, just to keep it from getting too dang hot. We always left it at 72 in the past. | |

| Well, the two years we had A/C on a boat, we shut it down whenever we left. Most people at our marina did the same. The cabins are so small compared to a house on these cruisers, maybe one or two beers at the dock once you get there and turn it on, the cabin will be nice and cool. I guess I have always been one who did not use it unless I was there. May have saved wear and tear on the pump, compressor etc.not sure. There are a few in the marina that do leave it on, but most did not at our marina. | |

| I always turn mine off when I am not there for the week, I just don't like the idea of something intentionally drawing water inside the boat should something go wrong. Then again, I know allot of people that just leave it on too. | |

| We never leave ours on, if we will be gone overnight. I lot of people in our marina use the dehumidifier mode during the work week. We don't seem to need it. | |

| We leave ours on, we don't pay for hydro and it seems many in our marina leave theirs on too. I just put the temp up when we leave so it keeps it just a little cool and pulls the humidity out. With the cabin closed up, except for the hottest days it really doesn't run that long or very often. | |

| My father on his boat and all his friends leave theirs on. Here in FL it's humid (duh) and it keeps the tent smell away. | |

| On my cruiser it had what was called an "anti mildew" setting. The AC would come on for 5 minutes every hour. Kept the humidity level without running the AC to keep the air a constant temp. I liked that feature a lot. | |

| I always turned mine off, but I left it on for the 1st time this Sunday. I just set the temp to 80 degrees. I did change the blower to intermittent instead of the factory default of continuous. | |

| We turn our off. We also have a few "Dri-Z-Air" containers to absorb any humidity. | |

| We leave our off, why put more wear and tear on components then you have to? | |

| We turn ours off. One less thing to worry about going wrong, when we are not there. | |

| I guess I'll have to dig the manual out. I can't see how to change modes easily | |
