Greetings -- I have a 2004 268 Vista. When we were out this weekend the Captain notice the refrigerator wasn't running when we were on the hook. No lights on the frig, the compressor wasn't running, nothing. There stereo, cabin lights, etc, worked fine. So I don't think it was a dead battery. When we got back in and plugged in shore power the refrigerator worked fine. Is there a in-line fuse that might have blown leading from the battery? Or is this a sign that I might need a new frig?

Thanks,

Scott

p.s. I checked the fuse panel next to the stereo and it was okay, but I didn't check the fuse box below the shifter, (maybe I need to go back and check that first.)

Depends on the make/model of the fridge. What've you got?

Could be a matter of low voltage too. Most fridges won't run if there's less than 10.4 volts DC.

The fact that it still runs when on AC means you probably don't need a new one. You might need a new controller board. But I'd check to see whether there's an on-fridge fuse for the DC side first.

my fuse is on the wall in the engine bay. Back there is a small bus bar for all the hot battery items, fwd/aft bilge, fridge, and radio. Good luck! Let us know what the final resolve is.

I finally got back to refrigerator. There was a 10 amp fuse on top of the refrigerator. I had to unscrew the the refrigerator to get to the top and pull it out of its space. Swapped out the bad fuse with a good one and reassembled the frig. Unplugged the shore power and turned on the frig. It works. I am not sure for how long, but we will see this weekend.

Cheers.
