Hey folks, new member, current Sea Ray owner. We're looking to upgrade to a 27-29 foot cruiser, and the 278 Vista caught our eye, as the cockpit layout was what we were looking for.

We're looking at a '95 278 with the 7.4 and Cobra drive. Any known issues we should be aware of?

Ummm, Four Winns did not make a 268 Vista in 1995. The first year for the 268 was 1999.

They did make a 278 Vista in 1995, but most were equipped with twins. I would not want a boat
with a 9'4" beam and just one engine. But it was possible to get a single 7.4L in 1995.
And yes, known problems with OMC outdrive and obtaining parts.
and check for leaks around the cabin windows, hatches and anchor locker.

That was a typo, it is a 278 with the single big block. I'm aware of the OMC issues. Did they have an option of Merc power in the mid 90s?
