I suggest you consider changing your thread title from "Giving it a try" to "2005 Sundowner 205 for sale".

You might have some potential buyers out there who may miss knowing you have a nice Four Winns boat for sale in the size they are looking for.

Just a thought.

Mike.

Here's a 278 for the price of a 268 in Michigan!

Stop it! I've done a good job of keeping control of my twofootitis. I do love those newer 278s though.

Is that why you run it down the road on every forum?

Go bigger! IMHO, 278 is not a big enough jump from a 248.

Ok, asking because I dont know much about them..........Doral boats? I am not straying away from FW just yet, but I need to research everything and keep my options open. Not an easy task finding everything you want in a used boat.

Doral are very nice boats, but company is currently out of business. They were made in Canada, and there is almost no dealer support, should you ever need it, in the US. My dentist has a Prestancia.

That helps a lot! I think I had better stay away from them. They look like very nice boats and the dealer I was speaking with said that he had a 26ft that was going for around 27k. He is sending me photos and more info.

For what it's worth Hutch, we looked at a lot of Dorals when we bought our Vista. Every one of them was so wet on the moisture meter. Hell, one of them, the surveyor said we could even drink the transom.

I say go for it if that was something you would like!! I like Chaparral, but dont think I will be going to Florida anytime soon to buy a salt boat.

Thought you said that no one in FL boats salt with "pleasure" boats?? Must be one of those people that wanted to be on the news.

Something must be off here, even for the age. Generator and 7.4l MPI for that price? Was the 7.4l MPI a 310HP?

Well I don't mean that boat exactly but a 600hp cuddy with cruiser amenities is quite amazing
