I'm in the process of purchasing a new Four Winns 180 OB. I'm going with the ETEC 150. Just need advice on how to get the best deal. The markup on this boat from dealer cost to retail is about 9000.00. I've been using the website " see dealer cost" to price different boats. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. |

Well, first would be to buy the boat from a dealer in Florida if transportation to where you live is cost effective. Our premium would be a lot less than somewhere like Wisconsin. Second, buy the boat with a bag full of cash. If you're financing you have no real bargaining power. You'll never buy a boat at dealer cost unless you're a dealer, but usually a wad full of cash will convince a hungry dealership to lower their profits for instant gratification. |

Not sure if its the same as car dealerships.... Boat makers like FW don't have a financing divison like for example, GM does with GMAC. Generally you'll get a better deal financing elsewhere anyway, like a credit union if you have one. My credit union generally beats any dealership with rates unless its 0%. |
