Even though I love my Vista like family...this boat seems awesome. It's $20k overpriced I think.

Yeah, seems way overpriced for a 13 year old boat....

Make sure you test-cruise the Funship on Mead if that is where you typically cruise. My '02 FS214 does pretty well on Mohave unless the wind really kicks up - the wind-chop can be pretty rough in the FS...

I agree, I think it is priced high by $10K or so.

He also doesn't know which engine he has, the 2003 Merc 496 (8.1L) either has 375 or 425 hp depending if it is the "HO" or not. Fast Facts indicates the "HO" was not an option so it has 375 HP.

Looks like a fun boat if you like to take a lot of friends/family with you. Keep in mind that deck boats like the FS are best suited for calmer lakes.

Is the funship hull significantly different? The SL seems to have a similar deck/cockpit, but I know it handles the chop decently. It doesn't look like the funship has that deep V with a 21 degree deadrise.

The FS only has a 17 degree dead rise.

Ok I'll stick with my Vista...lake mead is great on a calm day...but you never know when the lake will get nasty. We watch all the weather reports and seldom do they say calm. Moved up to the vista from and a 18' cuddy because the lake gets too rough...probably no fs in my future.

As I say, test cruise a FS. I'm on Mohave every year and out in the ocean also.

It might work out just fine for you - you never know until you try....
