Looking to move into the (gasp, dare I say) pontoon family. This is a great boat that has treated me and my family well since 2010. But with the kids leaving the nest and aging parents who still love to boat, I believe a modern tritoon would better suit our boating needs. So I type this with a heavy heart as I love this boat. Specs: LOA: 26' Beam: 8'6" Deadrise: 20 degrees Fuel Capacity: 75 gal. Water Capacity: 12 gal. Sharp boat, looks clean! Just a bit bigger than I want to go for my next one. How does your F150 do towing it? |

Is Cap'n off his game offering up a SR250? That boat is slightly longer and heavier than my H250, but you say my boat is too big? I take it you're getting out of cruising and back into the runabout world? I personally like these 25' to 27' boats. Small enough to handle pretty much all water sports and trailer wherever you want, but yet big enough to haul a lot of people/gear and handle semi-big (rough) water like LOTO. Regardless of what you do, I would highly recommend the big block 8.1L/496ci with the DP/BIII drive in this size of boat. I say this because I've rarely had to work this motor hard in all types of boating conditions. My H250 averages 7 gal/hr. But amazingly, it typically doesn't matter what we're doing (straight cruising, hauling large number of passengers, pulling kids tubing, etc), it still always seems to get 7 gal/hr tank after tank. About the only time I worked the motor hard was pulling me slalom skiing, which is becoming rarer every year. Hence the desire to move into a more "leisurely" boat! As for the F150, not sure. I say that semi-jokingly as I just picked this 2016 up in December. Actually, I previously pulled my FW H250 with a 2008 F150 with a 5.4L. It handled the boat ok. It was rated for 8,800 lbs towing capacity. My H250 comes in just below 8,000 lbs fully loaded. It would struggle a bit in the bigger hills of central Missouri heading to LOTO and back. I typically made that 500 mile round trip a few times per year. My old man has a 2011 F150 with the 3.6L Ecoboost. I've only used his truck just to drive it the 10 miles to our local ramp on the Mississippi, and could tell it handled trailering this boat better than my 2008 F150. He's also used both his truck and my 2008 to haul my H250 to LOTO and back during his typical 3 trips per year down there with my boat. He said his truck was much better towing in that environment. My 2016 is rated at over 10,000 lbs towing capacity with the 3.6L Ecoboost. So that's the long way of saying I'm confident this 2016 will have no issues towing this H250. Nice. Sounds like your F150 did nice towing it. The last boat I trailered was a 268 and I used a 2500 for that. I had a '14 F150 3.5 eco but never towed with it. Ordered a '16 2.7 last year and I'm sure she'll do great with the H240 I'm buying. They are great trucks! Clean boats are selling, Craigslist and Boat Trader are my go to's. Don't mind Cap'n, he's just drawing straws add to what I'm after. Good luck with the sale! |

So you did find a H240? Glad to hear you're keeping it in the family. I've got my boat listed on Boattrader and have a couple of sniffs. I've never used Craigslist, but I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion. As for Cap'n, I was just teasing about the previous thread on finding you a boat. I've enjoyed following that thread. |

My 318 buyer and backup buyer found her on craigslist. Made me mad I spent the money on boat trader. So far, sold 3 boats on craigslist, 1 on eBay. And yes - 4th Four Winns now. 225, 268, 318, 240. |

Congrats on the 240. One of my favorite Four Winns. Great boat. |
