Hello my fellow Four Winns owners. My name is Ron I have had a 298 for 10 years. Great boat with lots of power. I am selling now and looking at the 378 Vista with 8.1 (420 HP). I have a family of 5 so the 298 is getting small for kids getting bigger. My question is, is the 378 going to have the power I need and want? I loved the power in the 298 (5.0's). Can anyone with the 378 touch on the performance and there opinion? |

We are getting ready to put ours on the market. Pm sent. The 8.1s is actually 370hp unless they have the HO. I don't think many 378s had HOs, so be sure to confirm. Not sure what you are asking about as far as power?? This is not a boat you're gonna want to use for pulling toys and such. Not a great top end, BUT the boat runs the same with 2 people or 18 people, plains out, handles, and runs the same. The cockpit and topside are set up for entertaining, lots of open space. It's a big boat that handles bigger water well. Get the electric thottles, so much easy to dock and maneuver. Love the hard top. This boat ride more top heavy, so I think is better to hit the wake head on. It's a nice smooth ride.
