Well after 10 seasons the time has finally come to upgrade to a larger cruiser, we are expecting baby number 2 and need more space. We're looking for something in the 31-35ish foot range hopefully in the Four Winns family but are open to all options. If you know anyone looking for a turn key and road ready 268 please send them my way! Thanks

Congrats on the new addition! When we sold our 268 in January, we were looking in the 340 range. When we went looking, they had a 380 next to a 340, gosh glad we went with the 380. The separate stateroom with a door is awesome. Also, the shower vs wet head is another game changer.

Good luck on the new baby coming, and upgrading the boat

Thanks Chris we are super excited for both new additions to our family! Its crazy how quickly the decision came to upgrade after our 2 week vacation this summer, it was the first time I really felt the urge after10 seasons with the 268! Honestly it feels weird to put it up on the market, almost like selling a family member but we have simply out grown her.

The 340 Sundancer is a beautiful boat that specs out perfectly for us and has a great layout however it has one fatal flaw...no walk through windshield. I cant imagine having the kids walk around the sides of the boat to get to the bow or tending to the anchor in any type of waves. Ideally we would love to end up with a 318 or 338 but looking at the current market most of them are at the top of our budget and have some sort of saltwater usage or other red flags in their past. We have been looking at the Cruisers Yachts 3275/320 as one good option, we toured one and loved the layout!

Hearing that you sold yours in January gives me hope that I didn't wait too long to list ours for sale. I remember your CL ad, did you end up selling it off that or did you list it elsewhere?

2 things I miss about my FW, the walk-through windshield and the screen door. Learning to live without them, one of the many pluses of the 380 is the walkway is quite a bit larger than the 340's

When I listed my boat, I didn't list it til the new year and sold it in a couple weeks. The new owner loves it and boats on shelbyville. I did an ad on boat trader and, really, all I got were brokers wanting to sell my boat.

I received the most interest, and the buyer came through Craigslist.

If my 268 would of had a genny, I may still be in her now, that was my main "want". But with a couple children, it would get tight quick.

I really wanted the 378 FW, but I just couldn't swing the extra 20k at the time, as my daughter was finishing up her masters, and the boat bug had bitten already

Good luck, surprisingly, don't get discouraged, to me the boat market picks up in January/February, and your boat has a lot of nice upgrades. It will sell!

Good luck!

Congratulations on the new crew member and best wishes on the search for a new boat. I have to say that I have really enjoyed your blog and found the info shared here on the 268 to be very helpful. I'm sure you will do well upgrading and look forward to hearing the results. Many thanks. Gary.

Thank you so much Gary I really appreciate it!! Honestly I have no clue what we will end up with, some days I'll be real hot on a certain boat and then decide on a different boat 2 days later....I'm stressing myself out Lol! Gonna look at a couple more Cruisers Yachts this weekend, there just aren't any clean Four Winns in our area right now to look at. I really love the 318 but haven't been on one since Firecadets like 6 years ago.

I wish we could keep up on the blog like we use to, luckily we have them all written down(thanks to my wife) for future posts. I'm assuming we will have plenty to write about next year so hopefully we can get caught up this winter!

Our beloved Four Winns 268 has been sold and will be heading to a nice new family! Its bittersweet as we couldn't have asked for a better boat for our boating adventures over the last decade but unfortunately we have outgrown her. I will still drop in from time to time as I have met so many great people on this board many of which we have met in person and traveled with! Assuming all goes well with a deal we have pending survey/sea trial we will jumping brands to a Cruisers Yachts and when that happens I'll be sure to post some pictures

Congrats Ben! Happy for you, January is better to sell a boat than most people think
