I am looking at a 1994 Horizon 180 SE, it has a v8 and waiting on confirmation of what size. Anyone know anyhting besides a bad floor to look for in them. It has a Cobra stern drive, any problems with getting this worked on or parts? any help would be appreciated. They are asking $6700 for it. Also checking on hours on the motor. |

A 1994 can be a transition year...some 94 boats had 93 power packages and in this case it makes a big difference.... a 93 OMC Cobra is the pure OMC dog clutch Cobra, they are good drives but are getting harder to get service on and some parts are hard to get... a 94 OMC Cobra is the joint venture with Volvo model which is the same as a Volvo SX and as such can be serviced by any Volvo dealer...you have to make sure... the 86-93 OMCs were flat across the top of the drive... the joint venture models 94-98 OMCs and 94 and on Volvos had a hump on the top of the drive... I have one of the original OMCs and it's been great....but my shop still works on them...many don't...so be careful... and check that deck (floor) REALLY carefully...I had to do mine and it was no picnic... |

Thanks, i appreciate the advice will give it a better look, I still think 7600 is way to much for that year. |
