Gents:

We are thinking of selling our 2005 268 Vista.

Has anyone had any dealings with an outfit called POPyachts international? There website is http://www.popyachts.com,

Sounds legit but if anyone has any input it would surely be appreciated.

THEN, what will be our next boat?

Thanks

9BALL

Do you want bigger? Smaller? Same style boat? Different?

Probably smaller, not sure what yet. Boat shows should be starting soon.

I have my 2006 Vista 288 listed for sale and received a call from POP Yachts yesterday wanting to list my boat. They sound legit, however has anyone every dealt with them either selling or purchasing a boat. They told me that the international market is hot and I did notice on their website that they have locations around the world.... They told me that the buyer pays all of the commission and that there is no cost or commitment on my end.

What do you all think.

Who cares where it sells as long as you get the cash

You will if something goes bad in the deal.

9ball: Get everything in writing!! What is expected of you and them? Do you bring the boat to them? If so, who long can they keep it? What happens if you get a buyer before them? This and more you need to ask your self!

I have a copy of the contract with POPYACHTS, it is written so I don't need a lawyer to understand it. I can cancel this agreement with a 5 day written notice, then sell on my own.

We don't have to sell our boat. (not in financial distress ) As the wife and I say " if it doesn't sell we still have a boat"

I do have my eye on a nice little Bertram.

ryot2, pm me if you would like to read my contract, I could scan and e-mail to you.

And the boat stays here at home on the lift, if someone wants to see it Popyachts calls and sets up a time.

When we sold our previous boat, a 2003 248 Vista through a broker, our boat didn't budge until the checks funding was cleared by our own bank and the money was in our account. I would think you could insist on the same thing.

The people who bought our boat hired the Marina to help load it onto their trailer in February! I was amazed they wanted it enough to purchase without even hearing or seeing it run!

Thanks for the feedback. After considering all of the information that I have heard and found, I will keep my boat advertised with Angler Edge Marine. If you know of anyone looking for a super clean 288, please pass them my way. Here is a link to the boat http://www.anglersedgemarine.com/Page.aspx/diid/6431314/list/InventoryList/pageId/61152/indid/1/view/Details/2006-Four-Winns-Vista-288-Express-218-Hours.aspx

Thank you and happy boating.
Mike
