I love it! How does it handle rough water? Any fuel burn numbers? Is that one of the Carvers with the "dual mode" haul? It looks just like a smaller version of my Dad's 1990 3607 which I was just sitting on tonight trying to figure out how to tell my wife I want to sell the house and move on to a boat. ![]() |

Thanks. Its a Mod V with a Keel. It rides very well in our sloppy choppy shallow lake, but out in Lake Huron in Rollers it shows its true stability! We LOVE this boat. We literally live on the boat all summer. But here is the catch, and its a fortunate catch for us, we are expecting our first child. I feel it would be better suited to go back to day boating for a few years until our family grows. I would like to go back to a 258/268 Vista or even a 23-28 Sundowner. Something with a Cabin/head for daily use. After the family grows and its easier to spend weekends and summer on the boat, we will come back to a larger floating cottage, but for now I want to scale back a bit. |

CONGRATS!! I'm glad to hear your not giving up boating for while, since most people I have talked to that "take a break" from boating end up taking a permenant break from it. I think day boating on a 268/258 with a baby would be perfect solution. Good luck and congrats! |

Thanks! I grew up on the water. 4 months old all the way through my current 31 years....I plan to give my child the same experiences. We literally live on the boat right now. I can not see doing that with a new born. I feel we should be home in the evenings for quiet time! Thats why i want a day boat again. |

Congrats Ken on the news of expecting your "first one". I understand your thoughts of wanting to scale back a bit when the little one shows up, but I think you could still enjoy your larger boat in a similar manner to what you have been accustomed too even with a little one. Our son is now 8 years old, but at 8 days old we had him out to the sandbar on Lake St.Clair and at 15 days old we crossed Lake St.Clair over to Metro Beach (near you) and have pretty much spend every weekend and all summer vacation days boating ever since. Now enough with my interruption and back to your Carver 3227 for sale.............. ![]() Mike. |
