I am selling my 2004 Four Winns 268 Vista. This is the same boat as the 2006-09 Vista 278 and the 2010-present Vista 285. This is a highly maintained boat that I bought in 2007 with 38 hours on it. It was a fresh water boat and I put a FWC kit on the motor before putting it in local waters. No salt has EVER been through this motor, a 5.7 liter Volvo Penta GXi-F with 320 HP and a duo-prop outdrive. New carpets, isinglass, fresh bottom paint (good for 2-3 seasons). Manifolds and risers done in July of 2010. It also has a 1600 watt stereo, including two amps, four 6x9 speakers and two 12' subwoofers so there is no problem hearing while up on cruise. Sleeps four with an enclosed head. This boat has a grey tank so is a zero discharge boat, legal for the lakes. Fuel burn is 11-12 GPH at cruise, but my average burn rate over five seasons is 6.1 GPH, which naturally included a lot of putting around. My most economical tank was 3.1 GPH and I have five years of fuel records to show you. Included in the sale is a 2007 Venture tri-axel trailer that I bought new. There are brakes on two axels and all wheel cylinders were recently replaced. This is a turn-key boat with 465 FWC hours. This boat has been babied and highly, highly maintained. All seasonal maintenance is done; just turn the key and enjoy. $42,000 BO. It is negotiable, but don't insult me. Titles in hand. E-mail me with any questions or request for pictures. I can't figure out how to upload them. It's blue without an arch. Al337@cox.net

The dimensional numbers might be similar, but the 2004 is not the same boat as the new 278 or 285 Vista's. They made cabin, cockpit and above the waterline changes in 2006, and the V285 is an all new hull design, cabin layout, and cockpit layout.

Certainly there are differences that go along with modernization, but the only major difference I see are the cockpit sink and the molded in swim platform, which does not extend the hull. Changing the model number is a marketing scam to compete with other manufacturers. I guarantee you, they used the exact same mold for all of those boats. I might be wrong, but all indications point in that direction. With a 135k sticker price new, I'd do without the cockpit sink that only gets in the way anyway. http://www.fourwinns.com/model/V285
