If you guys are planning on upgrading, why not make the jump to vBulletin? I run a car forum with over 16k members and were running vB 3.6.4 and its amazing everything you can do with it.

phpbb3 is great plus it's open source, after upgrading other boards ( 4 of them) Spammers = 0. instantly.... new ACP is awesome...
