Now that I have been hanging around here for a while and feel a bit more comfortable. I would like to "tweak" my experience.
How can I get my picture in my signature smaller?
How do I access your photo albums?
How do you create the "avator?" found with our info on the left side of the screen?

I reduced the size of the photo in my signature by using the Paint program in Windows. Just open your photo and resize it then save it under a new name. Took several tries to get it smaller. Did the same with the photo for the avatar -- reduce the size in Paint until it was accepted by the Board. Hope that helps! :)

Thanks Houston I did what you said and it sort of worked. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to shrink the size of the image but instead crops it. After I did that once or twice I just had to do some adjusting to get the image close.

I re-sized a shot of just my little girls head to the allowable 64 x 64 pixel size and it was still too large of a file to be accepted as an avatar 3kb allowed 9.55 kb was the size.

P.S. Some Further playing and I found the stretch/skew feature and this shrinks the hole picture! See just like Mom taught me "Everyday you can learn something new if you ask"

Hey Marc,

A lot of us use photobucket.com with great success. Even if you're not super computer savy, it's very intuitive and allows you to resize easily. It also lessens the burden on the forum's server as the pictures live at photobucket instead of here. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about it... always love to see more pix!

Hi Sierra!

I do have a photobucket account but have not spent alot of time there "playing". I dumped some of my pictures there when I first joined the forum but haven't really been back until today. I will explore those options you talk about. Any ideas on the avatar? or access to the photo section here?

I checked out Houston's photobucket album and he has lots of pictures there. I will have to do the same soon.

I learned from Paul about using photobucket, and adding the link to my signature. Some out there have slow machines (I'm not talking about boats) and don't load those sig-pic's very quickly, so I like to just have a link in the signature. A "click if you want to" option.
