Graham, does the flow sensor have a gauge that mounts to the dash? So basically a sensor would mount on each hose or in one central flow output area. This is interesting. you mentioned all the possible hazzards and its like  . None of those would be good. Ya the male appendage was a little overkill.. sorry :)

After recently having my second impeller failure in 6 years, I am thinking of installing a DP switch using my drain plug bosses on the pump housing for fitment. Then running the wiring to a horn at the dash. Anyone else thinking along the same lines?

No need to apologise at all; I liked the joke/ allusion !

The flow sensors give a yes/ no, flow/ no flow indication to whatever alarm they are connected to. No doubt they are designed for a threshold value before they switch. They are pretty cheap though, usually plastic so no issues with corrosion..

Not familiar with the install options but can't you just mount one inline instead of inserting one into a fitting...or...do they not work that way.

Repngr...are you looking to install the flow meter as discussed or do you have something else in mind?

I am not planning on adding anything. The original question was from Deafwish.

My idea of a tell-tale over flow sensors/ temp alarms is simplicity.
I've found this a key component on all of my mechanical hobbies over the years! 8)
