has anyone gone with this and what was the price?

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffft to that. Sheesh. More like $1000 is what most dealers quote, and that's outrageous. The extended coverage costs the dealer almost nothing - it's pure profit. I negotiated the Volvo 2+4 into my deal for $100, after everything else was agreed upon. $1,550?? I believe that's a new record.

I purchased the 2+4 on a previous boat and I used every penny of it while I had my Chaparral.

I also purchased the 2+4 for my H240 -- but I got it all worked into the deal - so i paid for it somewhere.

I seem to recall finding out that the actual 2+4 costs the dealer around 750 bucks. take that for whatever it's worth.

Definitely not a "must have"... probably not warranted for 1550 bucks... Reasonable at 750 to 1000... probably.

I'd tell the dealer that 1550 is way too much... and try to negotiate down to 750-1000...

Buying mine part of the incentive was the dealer either pay first three months, or 4 year extension on the warranty. Due to the drive train having a few new things I wasn't sure would last, I opted for the extended warranty. So, that would equate to about $1000 based on my first 3 payments, if you look at it that way.

I thought 1500 sounded too much.

My dealer threw it in as part of the boat show discount. Make yours do the same.

Did you sign the deal for your boat already and looking at the extended warranty after the fact? It may be why they came in higher.

If you didn't sign, you have a little more power...also have them thow in an anchor or accessories. If it's the dealer I'm thinking of, it shouldn't be a problem.
