Who cares ric? You're not living in an area pertinent to the polar vortex. Give it a rest! It's getting old.

I never could understand why people in warmer climates tend to rub it in the faces of those in colder climates. Is it because most of the braggers abandoned their hometown and feel guilty? I was born and raised in Georgia and could never imagine living anywhere else. I would think that if I was born up North, I would feel the same.

Not bragging about the warm weather........But, California is in some deep trouble........We haven't had any significant rain in 14+ months.........they are all ready banning restaurants from serving water unless requested.......they are talking about not letting us water our lawns and no car washing at home.........

Parcels of land that are not irrigated are always lush and green this time of year.......not this year, they are extremely dry.......There will be extreme wild fires this year.....there have already been a couple.........

I wish we could get some of your moisture here in So-Cal.........

Can't speak for everyone here in the west but we would love every inch of snow you are getting in the east. I like to see full pools of water to float my boat in

I'm not sure how far west you are, but I agree with your comment. We could use all the snow the east is getting and Kansas City was prepared for it as usual. I will say though, for the first time in years our lakes, including Lake of the Ozarks, are completely frozen over in some places. Even overtons.com is marketing ice fishing products to me, which is also a first. It's been colder than normal for sure.

Stay warm and bring on the snow!

Great Lakes ice cover reaches highest level since 1993.
The Great Lakes are now almost completely covered in ice.

As of Wednesday morning, ice coverage is at about 87 percent, according to the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. That makes it the highest level since the winter of 1993.

Normal ice coverage for this time of year is 35 percent.

Early March is typically the normal peak and that's typically only about 40 percent.

Its all relative I recon...my house is a remodeled 100 year old farm house on a prairie. Its on piers about 3 feet off ground and made for the summer breeze in 100+ temps. No insulation in walls and single pane wood sash windows. Its COLD as a mofo and can't wait for the 90s to get here.

You folks in the north are bad to the bone. I've been having to feed the cows since November due the cold, usually don't start til January.

6-12" today changing to rain back to snow, not moving out till Fri AM.
Getting a 2 stage snowblower for next year. The single is good for smaller storms but for wet heavy snow it's a slow go.
All 3 four wheel drives in my family have General Altimax Arctic studded snow tires.

Not bragging by any means, but in my little slice of heaven the sun is shining for the third straight day. Still single digits, with about 1-2 feet of snow on the ground, but no bad weather in the area. Living on the south shore of Lake Ontario creates some odd weather patterns for sure. I can drive a few miles south inland and it will be a blizzard.

Wound up getting more than 10", but it was not as icy as the last storm so it was not as hard to get rid of. Now the snow pack is up to the bottom of the mail box lol.

I guess you Northerners aren't used to driving on ice? Par for the course down here -- never had a problem with it. Now, all the other morons on the road that don't know how to drive on it... that's the problem!
We're just thawing from the same system. I'm sure y'all have seen the photo from Raleigh with the car on fire, and all grades of funny stuff photoshopped into it. Crazy!
Topped off my whole-house auto-start & transfer diesel generator Wednesday; I've got 60 gallons that should last me 3-4 days. It did run about 8 hours total on Thursday morning though. All from the comfort of my bed while asleep :)

Are you referring to the 100 car pileup on the Pennsylvania Turnpike due to a little ice? I bet there are a lot of people in that mess who regret making fun of the South now.

Not only am I used to it, but drove in it 40 years ago with no front wheel drive, non4 wheel drive, no traction control and no abs. Studded snows on the rear axle and 4 sand bags in the trunk. Rear drive V8 full size GMs the size of a Tahoe. Learned how to use the parking brake as a crude limited slip. Modern tech is nice but = less cabable drivers by far.

I just got back to MI from a week Southern California. It was in the 80s there.

I'm REALLY ready for summer now that I had a taste of it.
At least it stopped snowing here finally and the sun is out.
