Hope there is room in here for an "old school" Horizon. Just bought it last week and brought it home form NJ to Long Island NY. Its an 87, 210 With a Mercruiser 5.7(260). Its in running condition but it needs work to bring it to its former glory. I do alot of work myself and love the look of the older boats. Alot of you guys have some NICE, newer boats, but I hope mine will bring back some memories of years gone by. Hopefully, I'll be done by summer. If interested, I can post pics of my progress.

Great looking boat Chris. We have a few Horizons of that vintage on our lake, and I must say, they are solid and classy! Looks like a bowrider version of a Liberator! (which translates into SWWEEEETTTT )

Are you kiddin'? I'm in love.

Last year during our weeklong stay at Table Rock, our slipmates were an older retired couple with a FW from, IIRC, 1978. They were the original owners! They had used the boat all the time their kids were growing up, taught them to ski behind it, took all their kids' friends along, all that - and now the kids were all gone and it was just the two of them, but every late afternoon they went out in their boat together, still loving the early evening cruise and no doubt reliving all of the times they had in that boat.

We should all be so lucky.

There are lots of great new, shiny boats on this board, but a boat doesn't take on a soul overnight.

Looks like a new trailer - I can't tell, is it supporting her all the way back to the transom?

Great looking boat, I have a 1988 200, the interior is all new, but the outside (gelcoat) needs some help, yours looks like it was really well cared for!

Thanks for the warm welcome. The trailer is a new load-rite I purchased for this boat. I like working on boats, not trailers. I need to swing by the trailer dealer so he and I can adjust the rollers and such to get it set up just right.
This boat is indeed a liberator with an open bow! I did some reserch and it appears they share the same hull!!

Nice boat! My previous boat was a '87 190 Horizon w the original 4.3 in it. I bought it from my uncle which was the original owner. Grew up coming to the lake and using that boat. Had a lot of good memories for me. Keep us posted with any updates.

Big - It's always wonderful when someone makes something new out of something old. I'd like to think I was that ambitious. You deserve alot of credit for taking on that project. It will no doubt bring you alot of satisfaction the first time you float it. Good luck and nice boat!

Nice boat. What are you plans for the engine?

My brother has a nice GM 383 engine that is hardly used and is thinking of selling it. He had it built by a local machine shop for his 19' stingray that he used at most 10 times before he junked it.
