Hi All,

I have a 2001 Horizon 180LE and need to replace the swim platform ladder. Someone left it down on the beach and the wakes beat the crap out of it.

I did search and can't really find what I'm looking for. i would like to replace it with an as close to OEM as possible, it's one of the top mount tr-fold ladders.

Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

Do you still have this, or did you sell it?

Haaa, my favorite site! Unfortunately, I want a 4 step, and the ones they have on the site don't fit my existing "cutout" .

I just replaced mine with a stainless 4 step like the one shown above. I had to drill new mounting holes but it is much nicer than the stock coated aluminum one.

For those of you with older Horizons without a swim platform - the back of the boat is angled and so is my current ladder. Can you replace with a straight 3 or 4 step ladder? I'd like to have a longer ladder, but with the angle in the water and the back of the boat, it doesn't seem a straight ladder will work?

Anyone else replace a ladder in this situation? Thanks

For this last question, I'd look at the small swim platforms for out board powered boats that have ladders integrated into them.
The other part of this job that's important to look at, it what method FW used to attach these ladders. On my old '88 it was just 4 'glassed in t nuts. Two of these rusted into oblivion. I did not want to drill new holes and the ladder was OK still so here is how I fixed it:
Tried toggle bolts but there was not enough room for them to flip open inside the integrated swim platform. Looked at for about an hr, came up with this:
A piece of angle aluminum. I then drilled holes in the Alu stock. Next riveted the open toggle bolts to the Alu stock. Slid that inside the very narrow inside of the swim platform from the engine compartment. Got a very bright LED flashlight and my son to help line up the bolts. Worked great and much stronger that their cheap azz way of doing it. Anything like a ladder needs a strong backing piece.
