My hinges are just pieces of angle that have a rounded end on the sun pad side and a bolt for a pivot at the rear.

Fair warning those FW stamped hinges are notorious for tearing and failing.

Since my sunpad is so small they seem to been ok for my boat but I can see how they'd be weak for anything larger.

OK so the existing bazooka tube int he rear under the bench seat int he pocket is not going back into the boat as i cannot think of a clean and aesthetically pleasing way to use it where it looks stock and clean. SO the decision has been made to glass in a sealed box on the port side of the new bench seat dry box storage as a sub box and add a second 12" sub to replace the 10" bazooka. This is the best solution that i can formulate that looks good and is overall functional.

that is the hump day update.. No work was done last night as i had not fully formulated plan of attack yet and wanted it decided before i moved further along.

Also my lawn needed to be spot weed sprayed in a few areas and the beds before spreading lime, fertilizer, and Halts crab grass preventer tonight before the rain on thursday.

i think that the stripes cover the Gel transition.

And yes i have been considering ditching them as they are fairly beat up in the bow area, and thought was to do a single black stripe at the intersection of the gel colors if the meeting line is not true..

This is exaclty what my boat has for striping. Its about 1.5" black stripe on the white below the color, now if I can get to posting a pic that would help. I've been thinking to remove the Four Winns vinyl on mine also and putting the newer style chrome up on the upper white hull, but most likely will have some good fading to polish out.

This is why I plan to just vinyl wrap a solid band around the hull like this with 9 year outdoor vinyl. Costs a couple hundred bucks and will be mirror glossy for nearly a decade. Plus it hides the funny looking early 2000's gelcoat design.

I still might do it. It's $150 shipped for 20yds of Oracal 751c marine rated vinyl in a nice deep blue. Not very often can you spend $150 to totally transform the look of a boat.

wait until you try taping a line to get it to look right against the compound curves of the hull surface. getting the line work to look like it does from the factory is an art. Def not like taping a wall for painting...

I re did portions of my strips with original FW striping, and even with my college art training (car designer, utilize tape to put lines for surface on clay models) it was a really big challenge.

Another lifetime ago I used to vinyl wrap semi trucks. Just take your time.

well i had about 15 min last night to get a little work done. All the screw holes pre drilled and screws in place. Every little bit helps. I will glue up tonight.

the sub box is marked with a scrap of wood.. it will be 2.18ft3 internal when done. and drop to around the mid 1s after basket loss. this should be perfection. so 2x 12s diagonal placement in the cockpit firing at each other. This should be nice upgrade from the 10" bazooka i had in the rear. PLUS this will look much cleaner and more factory correct.

the screws are a torques head small head screw that is 1.5" long and will do a great job of holding these walls together with glue then glass. I have had great success with these small screw heads in the past for large 1/2" router edges.

Assembly to happen tonight. Routing saturday along with the lid and base lips for a nice toe kick recess that double as the gutters for the water directing to the drains. I also plan to do the front hatch under side re enforcement's and the fuel hatch reinforcements. This should get me to have all of the pieces parts MINUS the rear hatch and back rest done.. WAITING ON THE HEAT FOR GLASS.

Had you considered porting only one of the 12" woofers?
A 35Hz port tune with near 2 cu.ft would have those lows echoing over the water, unlike a sealed enclosure! 8)
