Looking for some help. 2002 four winns 298 vista with twin 5.0 gxi-b engines with duo prop outdrives. I am having intermittent issues with a dead key switch. I have been dealing with this for about a year. I turn the ignition to the on position and the alarm beeps and the fuel pump initializes, but will not start (or even click) when I move the key to the start position. I have eliminated the following: ignition switch is good, starter/solenoid are good, neutral safety switch is good and it is not the fuses/relays. I have inspected and cleaned all the grounds. The only thing that seams to work is jiggling the wires that lead into the fuse box. I replaced the fuse box after readeing a Volvo bulletin and put the plugs back in with a dab of dielectric grease on each connector--there was no corrosion on the male or female ends. It is still happening. Any suggestions?

Update: after four hours on my head with my mechanic, we traced the problem to the ten pin connector on the backside of the motor. A connector had a loose connection. Fixed!

Thanks for the update. We can tuck this away as one more thing to check if we encounter a similar situation.

Agreed. It really is nice to get an update and add the resolution to the problem.
