The 3 bars on the head identify them as GT40 instead of the E7 heads that were standard HO roller heads, if have 4 bars they are GT40P but doubt it as those were after our boats were made. I have a remanufactured engine in mine, due to poor winterization back in 2003. So there could be another possibility for an upgrade.

As for the throttle body location, the Explorers of 95ish had a 90 cast bolt on elbow to the intake flange to move the throttle body, but not certain that our throttle cable would be able to be rerouted that far. I've found them on Ebay for about 40 bucks and may just get one to see if it will work. I'll see if I can figure out a way to move that flame arrestor as you mentioned.

I'll work on the ECU part as I am able to do full tuning on the Ford EEC IV processor with my personal laptop, and we can sub in a Mustang A9L ECU with the existing program then add a Moates Quarterhorse for full stand alone capability. The Moates system is awesome as I use it on my Thunderbird SC.

I am interested in your serpentine assy as I can't seem to figure out what pulley to put on the steering pump.

Ok so you can tune the Speed Density computer? if so i would be game.. otherwise to see any real gains with the TB and IT and Filter would need to so a MAF conversion and swap computers. Buddy that is a mastermind in the Fox Body Generation said unless the SD computer is reprogrammed no wonder i saw no improvements with my 70mm. and a GT40 would show zero also unless retuned.

need to figure this out because i sure would like a few extra HP if it does not involve a billion dollars.

As for the Serpentine i think i bough 1995 setup and i got all of the accessories with pulleys and tensioners and brackets. aka the entire front end for $100 from a guy and it is still int he box. all need sand blast and fresh paint. I will post it for sure when i get to it. it has been a side burner project that has not happened yet.

I may be wrong on the E7 heads, also heard possibly 351W heads due to larger valves I need to get the number off of them.

Called my tuning buddy and only way to effectively due the intake swap would be a MAF swap also. There is no effective feedback to measure air flow with the speed density system. Didn't ask him about tuning speed density ECU, but your just shooting in the dark if you added enough or too much fuel without any feedback from the MAF or O2 sensors. You can switch the intakes over it will just run lean. Easy way to adjust would be just adding adjustable fuel pressure regulator and bumping up the pressure but again shooting in the dark. Need to research what some of the early Fox body guys did with the speed density system.

To do the MAF conversion would take few steps that we could come to mind.
- He can extract the stock program parameters from the marine ECU for timing and such and load into a Mustang whatever ECU.
- Due the MAF conversion without changing intakes and get baseline datalog for air flows.
- Change intakes and datalog to see how much fuel to add. Its so much easier to due with O2 sensors or even EGT probe but there is no way we can add that to the exhaust manifold.

Small update found you can simply add a $50 conversion harness to go to mass air system. You have to splice in the wires for the MAFS harness to the main harness at the ECU. Then need to locate a mass air sensor which are super cheap and then a mass air ECU. Hard part getting elbow in that tight space then adding the MAF housing.

Yup that's what buddy and I discussed. Said while the intake is off we may as well do some port polishing while its apart in his shop. Said. That intake, 70m TB, advanced timing, some tuning, and porting the combination should be 60-75 possibly a tad more being MAF swap. Said he can do it in about 45 min.

I read up on the conversion. It is a new MAF senior infront of the TB and after a nice K&N marine filter. New plug and wire lead to the ECM harness plug, those rout to the main 60 pin plug. Disconnect from the ECM, couple splices, swap 2 existing pins, and button it back up with a MAF ECM model A9L or A3M (manual model with no trans sensor). You can get a plug and wires for $30 I have found.

The measurements on the 90 are going to be key. One is in eBay for $30 I may buy just to measure.

Came up with an idea for the flame arrestor. Basically will have to make a box type piece with a 3" flange to connect direct to the throttle body with a silicone connector and then out the front of this piece above the oil fill cap or possibly towards the rear of the engine as our intake vents are back there with more room, a 3.5" flange for this KN Flame arrestor filter. I'm gonna draw this up in ACAD over the winter and have it fabricated. Buddy has a TIG so he's ready whenever, and I'll probably go to a 70mm throttle body at the same time also.

i feel that the explorer stock 90* TB elbow will accomplish this and direct if forward and use basically the same filter ^^ bomb done.

That filter has 3.5" ID so will need to put something around TB to get the 3" needed. I'm gonna go ahead and order one of those elbows from ebay and give it a shot. Listening to the flame arrestor for 5 days at Dale Hollow lake make me think its got some restriction in it.

Now back to that tuning thing, found a way to add an O2 to the riser but got to have the riser custom machined to install the bung. With that installed shouldn't be an issue tuning AFR if able to get that marine program converted to work with Binary Editor and Quarterhorse.

Monday i got the Top lip plate glued and mounted to the Bench base.
Tuesday I router the overhangs flush to the edges of the walls with a nice 1/2 radius. Cut the storage compartment hole with a 3" lip and started the routing. (only did one corner because the router was too loud after dinner with the baby going to sleep. I will rout the inner lip this afternoon. In addition i will start laying glass on the outside of the bench.. get this sucker done so that the engine hatch can get built.

shaved another 1/2" off the lip and then routered it nice. Pilot holes and test mouth of the hinges. These double pivot lift and flip hinges are going to be sweet. Lift the front of seat and slide forward which pulls the transom side of the seat bottom out from under the backrest and tilts the seat forward to a fill swing position vertical towards the cockpit. Hinges as SS and will get a full polish treatment before final installation.

well i felt that posting every day that i did a little of glass was kind of lame.. SO i have been doing some glass work. the bench is 98% done with glass. the corners will get reinforcement tonight and then the skim coat can start. She is SOLD! I'm guessing about 45# of awkward. I feel confident that 3-4 Full Grown men can sit on it with no worries.

got the front face glassed last night. i think that i will scuff sand and toss one more layer of 9oz on the front as it is the most likely to see kicks and impact on the exterior. the top at the access hole has 2 layers now and may get a 3rd, still deciding.

speaker pocket is done! some filler and smoothing and ready for pilot holes and mounting.. Well still needs thru wall SS power feed wires.

torque when towing and a better on plane hold at lower speed.
