Would anyone be able to send me down the right path for diagnosing the alarms I'm getting?
What put me onto this forum is some of the valuable insights shared about similar issues. For context, I bought this boat used on a whim, in July 2025, after the owners (who inherited it :P ) suddenly needed to move, couldn't take it with them and all but gave it to me. So I've only been able to take it out about 6 times. Other than these alarms and a couple gauges not working (ex. Speedometer) it seems to run great. Cranks easily, motor sounds good but there is obviously some underlying issue behind the alarms that are going off. As you can see in the following videos, the alarm tends to go off when I'm idling or going very slow. It seems to correlate to low battery voltage as my panel displays a lit up battery warning and low voltage (not sure if those are working correctly). Sometimes the alarm goes off on its own after a few seconds and sometimes It goes off immediately when I press the "SET" button. It's usually a very loud and constant sound vs beeping. I've read posts about potential oil pressure sender or sensor issues. I've also read about depth alerts and voltage alerts. Could be all or could be 1. Not sure. Just curious if any of you recognize the alarms and symptoms and what you did to track down the root cause.

I can't say for sure what those alarms are, but I do have a solution for you.

I have a 2001 Horizon 180 that started giving me alarm signals. In my case it was a low oil pressure alarm, and it drove me crazy. The engine never suffered low oil pressure, and it wasn't the sender, it was the VDO dashboard. These dashboards are notoriously unreliable, and virtually unrepairable. Supposedly they are made like automotive dashboards, and just didn't hold up the the higher moisture environment on a boat. A few lucky owners have found a solution by adding an additional GND wire. I was not so fortunate.

In my searching for a solution, there's really only one way to solve this problem - replace the dash cluster with individual marine-grade gauges. Once upon a time, someone was making a plug-and-play dashboard that used all of the original sensors, but consisted of individual gauges that were assembled into a wood cluster that fit into the dashboard shroud. Alternatively, you could source your own gauges and assemble them as you want - be with this scenario you need to pay attention to whether the senders on things like the speedometer and trim gauges are compatible, otherwise you're running new sensors and possibly wires.

In my case, I yanked the alarm module off of the back of the computer board behind the dash. My oil pressure gauge will often read "0 PSI", but I ran a separate mechanical oil pressure gauge, so I know it's the cluster and not an actual problem.
