Ok I have been lerking on this site for some time and hope you guys can help

I have the chance to swap my 4.3 engine in my 88 horizion with a 5.7
has anyone ever done this
I know I need new manifolds. what I am wondering is if the engine mounts are the same
ans anyone help or point me in the right direction.

Why don't you e-mail 4 winns they are pretty helpful with questions. The front engine mounts on the V-8 are several inches foward of those on the V-6. The other issue is the gear ratios in the outdrive, they are different for the V-6 and V-8. Your V-6 drive will not have the correct ratio for the V-8. The manifolds are different, although the Y pipe may be the same. Do you have an OMC drive system or Merc?
